Sources and uncertainty
Research begins with statutes, administrative rules and official agency guidance. Claim records include a URL, section, evidence note and retrieval date. Amendment notices and effective dates are checked where accessible. An inaccessible source, ambiguous measurement definition or unresolved classification stays unresolved.
What a source check means
This revision uses AI-assisted research and coding. No professional legal review or human review of every claim is represented. Source checks are limited to the passages and dates shown; they are not a promise of continuous monitoring.
Calculator boundaries
One shared engine powers the homepage, dedicated tool, state pages and widget. It accepts measured combined VLT and requires explicit confirmation of modeled conditions. Film estimates are separate. Medical exemptions, special vehicles and unresolved cases cannot receive an automatic pass.
Corrections and dates
Content corrections are separate from legal changes and software releases. A link-check success does not verify law, and automated checks do not advance source dates. Older unsubstantiated copy is retained in the repository for research, not used to produce legal answers.
